A single road onto the trunk from Al Sufouh Road, and the Palm Monorail from Gateway Towers to Atlantis, connecting to the tram. No metro on the island. Parking, unusually, is plentiful.
The fronds are gated and each has security at the entrance. We register our drivers rather than turning up unannounced, so frond deliveries run on the same schedule as everywhere else. Give us your frond letter and villa number.

Everyone funnels through the same trunk road, so the peaks are sharp and predictable. Most residents work off-island in Media City, the Marina, Downtown or DIFC.

Two of the best routes in Dubai. The Palm Jumeirah Boardwalk runs eleven kilometres around the crescent, six metres wide, with thirty-seven access gates and no cyclists. Al Ittihad Park on the trunk has a 3.2 kilometre track with painted distance markers and more than sixty native UAE species, every tree labelled.
A security patrol boat runs down each frond every morning, and the island settles two to three centimetres a year — the monorail alignment is recalibrated to keep up.
